Wednesday night at Time Rift Arcade brought a packed house, cold drinks, and four rounds that had teams arguing with each other before the pens even hit the paper. We opened with DC Universe, took a hard left into 1960s spy comedy with Get Smart, camped out at Central Perk for a round of Friends, and closed the night with a full sprint through the 1990s. Some teams cleaned up on the capes and stumbled hard on the shoe phone. Others knew every rat, every jellyfish, and every dial-up CD in the mail. DC Universe kicked things off and gave the whole room a chance to warm up. This round stuck to the big names and the stuff everyone absorbed through decades of cartoons, movies, and Saturday mornings, so nobody got shut out early. Get Smart was the round that separated the crowd instantly. If you grew up watching Maxwell Smart bumble through CONTROL headquarters, this was twenty free points. If you did not, it was twenty minutes of guessing. We went after agent numbers, gadgets that never worked, the guy running the whole operation, and a few production facts that even longtime fans had to dig for. A couple of teams got very quiet during this one. A couple of others got very loud.

We ran through boy bands, dial-up nostalgia, the birth of online shopping and streaming, and the handheld console that ate the decade. Then we swung into the news side with bombings, standoffs, scandals, and the bug everyone thought would end civilization on New Year’s Eve. Toys, dance crazes, and water guns rounded it out. If you lived through it, you had a real shot. If you did not, you learned something.
