October is here, and Time Rift Arcade in Bedford is stocked with zombies, Xenomorphs, killer clowns, and at least one very hungry ghost. You don’t need a haunted house this year. You need a $12 day pass and a steady trigger finger.
Here’s your field guide to the creepiest cabinets and pinball machines at Time Rift, plus a Halloween photo op you’ll want to hit before you leave.
The Walking Dead
Grab a gun, grab a friend, and start clearing walkers. The Walking Dead drops you into a nonstop horde where hesitation gets you eaten. It’s loud, it’s frantic, and it’s the perfect warm-up for a spooky night out. Pro tip: bring a partner. Two shooters cover a lot more ground than one.
CarnEvil
If clowns creep you out, this is your worst nightmare and our favorite Halloween pick. CarnEvil is a Midway light gun classic set in a cursed carnival packed with killer clowns, possessed rides, and freaky sideshow monsters. It’s campy, gross, and ridiculously fun. It’s also one of those games people remember from the ’90s and can rarely find anymore.
Aliens Armageddon and Aliens Extermination
In space, no one can hear you scream. In Bedford, everyone can. We’ve got two modern Aliens shooters on the floor, so you can blast xenomorphs back-to-back. Aliens Armageddon brings the big-screen chaos, while Aliens Extermination keeps the pressure on with swarms that never seem to stop. Want the old-school version? Stranger Things Pinball
The Upside Down is open for business. Stern’s Stranger Things Premium pits you against the Demogorgon in a machine loaded with Hawkins lore, spooky lighting, and callouts fans will recognize instantly. It’s one of the most popular tables in the house, so check the leaderboard before you play. Top scores here are no joke.
Retro Frights
Halloween scares didn’t start with HD graphics. These classics have been haunting arcades since before most of our guests were born.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Mounted guns, a nuclear wasteland crawling with endoskeletons, and a liquid metal killer that refuses to stay dead. This is the cabinet that made light gun games a spectacle, and it still hits hard.
Mortal Kombat II. Darker, meaner, and bloodier than the original. Shao Kahn, the Living Forest, the acid pit in the Dead Pool, and fatalities that got parents writing letters to Congress. A true ’90s horror show.
Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Dungeons packed with skeletons, ghosts, and demons, and Death himself still roaming the halls looking for your health bar. Grab three friends and see who survives.
Primal Rage. Giant monster gods battling for control of a ruined Earth, and yes, they eat their own worshippers. It’s a kaiju movie in cabinet form.
