Wednesday night at Time Rift Arcade brought one of the strangest lineups we have run yet. Wizards, monsters, spaceships, and pixels all in the same 80 questions. Teams went from Hogwarts corridors to 1313 Mockingbird Lane to a rag-tag fleet running from the Cylons, then finished by naming games off nothing but a year and a description. Harry Potter. This round rewarded the people who actually read the books instead of just rewatching the movies. Plenty of easy points early on with platforms, brooms, and house elves, but the middle stretch got mean fast. Anything involving creature names or soul arithmetic separated the casual fans from the die-hards in a hurry. A few teams talked themselves out of the right answer on the tricky counting question. Twenty questions, and almost nobody swept it.

The Munsters. Classic black-and-white TV is where trivia night gets fun, because half the room grew up on reruns and the other half is guessing. Addresses, pets, day jobs, and catchphrases all showed up here. The casting question at the top of the round tripped up more teams than it should have. If your table had someone over 50 on it, you probably cleaned up. If not, this was the round that hurt.

The reboot questions went down smoothly for most of the room, then we dropped in a couple from the 1978 original and Galactica 1980 and watched the pens stop moving. Ships, curse words, Cylon biology, and one very famous song all made appearances. So say we all.
