Wednesday night at Time Rift Arcade got loud, and it wasn’t just the pinball machines. Trivia Night on July 8th packed the house with teams battling across four rounds: Star Wars, Wednesday, SpongeBob, and our signature Name that Movie round. We covered a galaxy far, far away, a certain gloomy academy, the depths of Bikini Bottom, and nearly a century of film history. Some teams cruised. Star Wars kicked things off, and this round did not stick to the easy stuff. Teams had to know iconic quotes, droids, ships, and deep cuts pulled from the newest corners of the franchise. Casual fans held their own early, but the later questions separated the padawans from the masters. If you’ve only seen the original trilogy, this one stung a little. The Force was strong with a few tables, though.

Wednesday brought Nevermore Academy to Bedford for round two. This one rewarded anyone who binged both seasons, digging into character powers, supernatural species, and the darker moments that make the show what it is. Teams who only remember the dance scene found themselves guessing more than they’d like. The season 2 questions in particular caught plenty of people off guard. Snapping twice was optional but encouraged.

It sounded easy until the questions got specific, and suddenly teams were arguing over episode details from twenty years ago. The tables with a true SpongeBob scholar pulled ahead fast. Everyone else was left shouting the theme song in frustration.

Name that Movie closed the night the way it always does: with pure film chaos. Teams got plot descriptions spanning from the 1930s to the 2000s and had to name the movie, covering cult classics, monster flicks, Schwarzenegger deep cuts, animation landmarks, and teen comedies. The older titles humbled the young tables and the newer ones humbled everyone else. It’s the great equalizer of Trivia Night, and this week was no exception.
