Atari Force Liberator at Time Rift Arcade

Liberator by Atari puts you in command of an orbital battle cruiser with one mission — wipe out enemy strongholds from space before they strike back! Using a trackball controller, you’ll aim laser blasts at rotating planets below, dodging missiles and meteors in a fast-paced test of skill and precision. Designed by the same creative minds behind Missile Command, it flips the script — now you’re the one delivering the firepower. Explosive, challenging, and endlessly replayable, Liberator is pure Atari action at its best. Ready to save the galaxy? Lock on and fire!

Acquiring this game was a fun one.  Only 700 of these cabinets were ever produced. We received an email from someone in California who had this in their garage. They didn’t know anything about it, or have any clue what it’s value was.  They simply wanted to get rid of it.  It was FREE if we would come to their house and get it. We sent a truck from Beltmann Logistics to pick it up.  The shipping cost back to Texas was $650.  Upon receipt Mike Murray did a complete clean of the cabinet and did a cap kit on the CRT and made a video!

June 1st, 2025: Monitor Died
Technician: David Murray
This monitor on this game was dark.  Checked basics, found HOT (horizontal output transistor) had failed.  Flyback also failed.  It is common for the flyback to fail and take out the HOT.  Replaced flyback and HOT to restore monitor to operation.
